SQL INITCAP Function

SQL INITCAP function return capitalize string/char (capitalize first letter of each word).

Supported Oracle SQL Version :

  • Oracle 8i
  • Oracle 9i
  • Oracle 10g
  • Oracle 11g
  • Oracle 12c

Syntax :

INITCAP(string)

Example :

Consider following example return the capitalize string of given string argument.

SQL> SELECT INITCAP('opal kole') "INITCAP" FROM DUAL;

INITCAP
---------
Opal Kole


SQL LOWER Function

SQL LOWER function return lowercase character in every word.

Supported Oracle SQL Version :

  • Oracle 8i
  • Oracle 9i
  • Oracle 10g
  • Oracle 11g
  • Oracle 12c

Syntax :

LOWER(char/string)

Example :

Consider following example return the lowercase string of given string argument.

SQL> SELECT LOWER('Opal KOLE') "LOWER" FROM DUAL;

LOWER
---------
opal kole

SQL UPPER Function

SQL UPPER function return uppercase character in every word.

UPPER(char/string)
