SQL REGEXP_SUBSTR() Function
SQL REGEXP_SUBSTR() function return substring from the original string. This substring is searching in original string using regular expression pattern.

Syntax
REGEXP_REPLACE(original_string, pattern [ , position [ , occurrence [ , match_param [ , sub_expression ] ] ] ] )
Parameters
- original_string is a string which we want to represent in regular expression pattern.
- pattern is a regular expression pattern.
- position is a integer values specified the position to start search. default position is 1 mean begin of the original string.
- occurrence is specifies positive integer number.
- If occurrence value specify 0 then replace all matched.
- And if occurrence value any positive number then replace only that number matched.
- match_param is a expression flag.
- i - ignore case
- c - case sensitive
- n - match any character as well as match newline character
- m - multi line
- x - ignore whitespace
- sub_expression is specify the number (range from 0 to 9) of sub expression in pattern.

Consider following example is REGEXP_SUBSTR function fetching 'taxo' substring from original string using 'ta[^ ]o' substring pattern.
