HTML track Tag

  • HTML <track> tag is used to represents text tracks for both the <audio> and <video> tags. The tracks are supported formatted in WebVTT format (.vtt extension) - Web Video Text Tracks.

  • HTML <track> tag specifies supplementary text such as subtitle, caption, or other forms of text that display on the media plays.

  • HTML <track> tag introduce in HTML5.

<track> Tag Attributes

HTML <track> tag support following specific attributes.

Attributes Value Description
default default Specifies the track should be enabled default. User's can change track preferences later on.

subtitles		 Specifies the kind of text in track.
label text Specifies the title of the track.
src URL Required. Specifies the URL resource of the track file.
srclang lang_code Specifies the language of the track text data. It must be a valid as per BCP-47 language tag.
